Embracing our Community Through Local Events
December 7, 2021
Cumberland Pointe Care Center loves the community we serve. We love to participate in community activities and events while also inviting the community to our facility events. This year has been a tough one to navigate and stay connected to the community due to Covid. We have become very creative in finding ways to stay connected. In doing so, we began welcoming our community to drive-thru events and finding other creative ways to spend time with our community in a safe way.
In July, we participated with our sister facilities, Emerald Pointe in Barnesville and Park Health in St. Clairsville, to host a Summer Senior Health Fair along with Amedisys Hospice. The staff and residents of these buildings and the community enjoyed a sunshine-packed day with tons of local vendors. We had live music, a live radio broadcast from 97.3 FM and wonderful food from Big Zekes BBQ!
In October, we hosted our first-ever community Trunk-or-Treat at Cumberland Pointe along with Amedisys Hospice. Our residents enjoyed a crisp fall evening of passing out candy and enjoying all the costumes. We gave out snacks, candy and prizes for best costume and best-decorated car!

In November, we kicked off the holiday season by participating in the St. Clairsville Christmas Parade, put on by the St. Clairsville Chamber of Commerce. Our staff decorated our transportation van and drove it in the parade while other team members walked alongside handing out cookies. The parade got everyone into the holiday spirit!
At Cumberland Pointe, we love the community we live in! Our staff and residents always enjoy participating in community activities. We are looking forward to planning many more events in 2022 for our staff, residents, and community to enjoy.
